Requirements

•    National technical certificate part 5

•    Electrical trade test certificate 

•    Wireman’s license (installation electrician)

•    Computer literate

•    Valid code B/EB driver’s license 

•    Six (6) years post apprenticeship experience in a municipal electrical environment in a supervisory position

 

Key Performance Areas

•    Performs plans and directs high voltage electrical switching operations

•    Co-ordinates and directs planned electrical outages and major electrical power failures.

•    Ensures that all electrical infrastructure conforms and complies with legislation, regulations and relevant standards

•    Investigates all incidents and accidents pertaining to the section staff and equipment.

•    Controls the sections financial operational budgets and controls expenditure within the approved budget

•    Ensures the requirement of the OSH Act and its regulation are implemented and enforced.
