He made his test debut against Italy in a 26-0 victory in Cape Town in 2008 ahead of, amongst others, his twin brother Akona. He retired after the 2017 Currie Cup Premier Division.
Sharks backline player Odwa Ndungane, with 107 Super Rugby caps, always brought calmness for the Sharks team. His calmness under pressure was a vital ingredient that comes with contributing regularly over his decade-plus career in Durban.

An experienced wing with excellent finishing skills, Ndungane has been a stalwart for the Sharks in recent seasons. His twin brother, Akona, also played for the Springboks and was a Rugby World Cup winner in 2007, but they never featured in the same Bok squad.
