INVITATION TO COMMENT ON DRAFT 2026/27 ELECTRICITY TARIFF

Invitation to comment on the "draft" 2026/27 electricity tariffs and the recently concluded cost of supply study calculation /tariff design methodology.

BCM would like to invite BCM customers to participate in our electricity tariff modelling process for the applied electricity tariffs in the 2026/27 financial period.

Please note that the recommended "draft" tariffs are not yet council-approved and will only be submitted for final council approval in December 2025 and on conclusion of the public participation process, ending Nov 2025. They are still subject to change.

Thereafter, the BCM council-approved tariffs will be sent for NERSA approval before 12 Dec 2025 (as is a NERSA requirement this year), for implementation on 01 July 2026.

Please scrutinise the COS calculation methodology, along with the tariff impact spreadsheet, on how these recommended new tariffs will affect you, as a BCMM customer.

BCM customers can email chrisg@buffalocity.gov.za to request the COS calculation/tariff modelling spreadsheet and tariff impact spreadsheet.

Alternatively, the relevant COS calculation/tariff modelling spreadsheet and tariff impact spreadsheet can be viewed on the BCMM website as of tomorrow, 15 November 2025.
