Mr Thando Ursmond Mpulu obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1998 from the University of Fort Hare. He has completed a Global Business Leadership programme with Duke Corporate Education in India as well as a Corporate Governance programme through the  Institute of Directors. He has an MBA from Regent Business School.

 Started his career as a business development specialist for a small business organization.  He gained extensive corporate experience as a Sales Executive at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Emerging Markets. He later held the position of Director of Marketing at Performance Unlimited and Sure Travel respectively.

Mr Mpulu has served as the Chairperson of the Black Management Forum in the Eastern Cape as well as a member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature (MPL) during the 5th Administration. He was the first CEO of the Black Business Forum in the Eastern Cape. He also serves on the Fort Hare Foundation Board of Trustees.
