CITY HOSTS PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMME
Honourable MEC for Social Development Siphokazi Lusithi together with Buffalo City Metro hosted the Public and Community Outreach programme as part of the Sisonke Sizophumelela, Social Development month which is aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting social behavioural change in communities with

Portfolio Head for Special Programmes Xolani Witbooi and MEC Lusithi handed over 35 learning gadgets which were donated by Vodacom to school learners whilst 91 blankets and food parcels were handed over to the elderly.


Speaking at the event Witbooi said, "This is a great initiative, we all know that children are our future leaders and education is the key that can unlock many doors for them."


Adding on he highlighted that our elders are the ones we look up to for advice and help, "We should always take care of our elderly people as they have played a major role in our upbringing as well as that of their grandchildren. Our blessings come from them."


The event took place in eQonce on Friday 01 October 2021 at the Good News Christian Centre.
