TSHOLOMNQA LEARNERS RECEIVE EDUCATIONAL TOOLS TO IMPROVE THEIR EDUCATION
In a heartfelt display of collective community support, learners from Jim Mvabaza Senior Secondary School received a much-needed boost for the year ahead through a back-to-school programme.

Each year, the government embarks on the Back to School initiatives and today the initiative has brought to the school 25 tablets for Internet connectivity through the universal services obligations, 100 school shoes and 100 school bags, 25 rugby balls for both the school and community club, training on digital literacy for teachers and learners, digitization of school by registering a domain for the school and emails for both learners and teachers and child online safety conducted by the department.

This initiative ensures that learners in need are equipped with essential educational tools, paving the way for a successful year ahead.

The objective of the campaign is to support the education sector, encourage and ensure that learners adequately prepare for the year ahead.

The programme is led by the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies in collaboration with the Buffalo City Metro Municipality.

Speaking during the event, BCMM Executive Mayor Cllr Princess Faku said, "as Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, we are happy that today we are teaming up with the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies to distribute these educational tools to the learners."

"These learners will start the year at the right footing as they received tablets and other gadgets to help improved their education."

"Also they are receiving shoes and bags and no learner will feel less fortunate than others."

"The campaign seeks to support the education sector, encourage and ensure that learners adequately prepare for the year ahead."

"As BCM we commit to provide support to these grade 12 learners."

"We will also hire people to take care of the school."

The handover tookplace on Friday 17 January 2025 at Jim Mvabaza Secondary School, Twecu Village.
