OPERATION VALAZONKE TRANSFORMING ROADS IN BCMM
In an ongoing effort to address the pressing issue of road infrastructure, the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM) has made significant strides through Operation Valazonke to fix thousands of potholes and resurface roads.

Launched in 2022, this groundbreaking initiative has improved the state of roads in the BCMM area and created job opportunities for many.

Despite inclement weather conditions in the region, dedicated teams from internal and private contractors in the Coastal, Midlands, and Inland regions have worked tirelessly to patch and fix potholes.

Executive Mayor Councillor Princess Faku's call for an "all hands-on deck" approach continue to yield impressive results, with main roads, streets, and gravel roads in all regions showing significant improvement.

This has also created temporary jobs for many residents. Many Metro Wards have benefitted from this project.

Areas including Qonce, Bhisho, Zwelitsha, Ilitha, Ginsberg, Phakamisa, Mdantsane, Duncan Village, Braelyn, Cambridge and Dimbaza amongst other areas including the suburbs that have improved roads.

BCMM remains committed to transforming the state of roads in the region and creating a better future for its citizens.
