CHUU NGCEMBE WITH OPERATION VALAZONKE IN CAMBRIDGE AND AMALINDA

The occurrence of potholes has a direct impact on road safety, the operating and maintenance costs of vehicles.

Through this programme the City is actively tackling the pothole problem with our dedicated patching teams continuously deployed in all our districts, repairing potholes and promptly attending to all related complaints.

Regular pothole repair is of critical importance in extending the life span and maintenance of a safe riding surface of our road network.

It should be noted that over the past few months, municipality had encountered several challenges concerning the availability of asphalt material and plant which has hindered the operation of the Valazonke programme. But by mid-March, despite obstacles, BCMM patching teams have managed to patch approximately 11500 potholes throughout the city. Here, teams are working in Amalinda Ward 16 and Cambridge Ward 4.
