JUBILATION AS THE ELDERLY RECEIVE HOUSES IN CLIFF VILLAGE
A 72-year-old man from Cliff Village, in Qonce received a new home with furniture and groceries, earlier this week.

The house forms part of a running rural development project in Cliff Village for the benefit of mainly the elderly who were staying in poor structures that pose a threat to their lives in that village. The project thus far has 127 completed houses with beneficiaries already moved in. Zwelibanzi Valuvalu who was staying in a dilapidated shack was over the moon with excitement as he received keys to his new house. "I am now confident that when stormy weather comes, I will be at the safety of my new house not worrying about running after zinc sheets from my roof," he said.
Speaking at the handover, Executive Mayor Councillor Princess Faku said: "Mr Valuvalu is a perfect example of the kind of people we want to see receive services from the government. Today his dignity is restored, thanks to this government." The handover was led by MEC for Human Settlements Siphokazi Lusithi.
