SA CITIES NETWORK INDUCTS BOARD
The South African Cities Network (SACN) is holding a two day Board induction workshop at the East London ICC, in Buffalo City.

This follows the recent election of BCM Executive Mayor Cllr Xola Pakati as the chairperson of the SACN Council, and the appointments of Yolisa Kani, Ashraf Adam, Nontando Ngamlana and Dr Modjadji Malahlela as Non-Executive Directors of the SACN Board. The Independent Audit Committee members were also appointed, with Kone Gugushe, Nokuthula Selamolela and Lwazi Kuse brought in to provide oversight of the financial reporting and audit processes of the organisation. The SACN is an established network of South African cities and partners that encourages the exchange of information, experience and best practices on urban development and city management. “It is vital to the ongoing relevance and success of SACN that it aligns its activities with the interests and needs of its most important stakeholders and partners, being the metropolitan municipalities of South Africa. For this to take place, it was important that we appoint a credible Board with the requisite skills, knowledge and experience to put the SACN on a higher performance trajectory," Pakati.
