CITY ENHANCES SERVICE DELIVERY WITH NEW FLEET HANDOVER
Head of Directorate for Solid Waste and Environmental Management, together with her Senior Management Team handed over service delivery fleet to the three departments namely Solid Waste Management Services, Environmental Management and Municipal Health Services.

The fleet was procured to enhance the directorate’s service delivery initiatives by increasing resource capacity to efficiently deliver on all services mandated to the Directorate.
Speaking at the handover, HOD Yoliswa Sinyanya said: “The three trucks and 13 bakkies that we are handing over today will augment our existing fleet and help us provide an efficient service to the people of the City.”
She cautioned custodians of these vehicles about well handling, cautious driving and importance of maintenance. Drivers were empowered about the importance of responsible handling of Council resources to achieve longevity of the assets and get value for money from such investments.
“We are a service delivery directorate and therefore it is our mandate to ensure the members of the public receive a satisfying service from us.”
Sinyanya also encouraged the departments to implement robust controls and regularly monitor the council vehicles to ensure optimal and responsible use. Irresponsible utilisation and misconduct regarding these assets will be followed by consequence management.
The handover was held last week at Gonubie Resort.
