Speaking about the campaign, BCM Women’s Caucus Chairperson, Councillor Clara Yekiso-Morolong said: “This is an effort to make cleaning the City, a daily norm. The main purpose of this campaign is to keep BCM public spaces clean, tidy and safe."
"During this campaign we are also addressing issues of women recycling initiatives so that they can take ad-vantage of such opportunities," she said.
BCM Deputy Executive Mayor Councillor Princess Faku urged residents not to litter. “We have identified wards that we are targeting in terms of cleaning and assisting communities on how important it is for us to keep a clean City, because when we have a clean City, it is very easy for us to even attract investors to come here,” Cllr Faku said.
She called for more stakeholders to join the Municipality on clean-up partnerships saying “let us make sure that we make Buffalo City a better place to stay in, and a healthy place.”
The campaign will be ongoing every Monday’s and it is targeting the following wards:
