ST. THOMAS LEARNERS VISIT ROUND HILL LANDFILL SITE
Fourteen learners from St. Thomas School for the Deaf, accompanied by teachers and an interpreter, visited the Roundhill Landfill Site in Berlin.

This was part of a public awareness and education initi-atives.
The visit aimed educate pupils on landfill operations and the importance of proper waste handling and disposal.
Using sign language, visual aids, and written notes, landfill officials explained the landfill's operations, highlighting envi-ronmental concerns and the importance of recycling and waste reduc-tion. Pupils participated in interactive activities, asking questions and sharing experiences.
The visit promoted environmental consciousness and responsible waste management practices among the pupils, demonstrating the effectiveness of inclusive public awareness initiatives.
The pupils gained a new understanding of waste management's environmental impact, with plans to share their knowledge with family and friends.
