METRO STRICT ON LAND INVASIONS FOLLOWING LAND AUDIT
The Buffalo City Metro is sending out a strong warning that land invasions will not be tolerated.

On Wednesday, the City conducted a joint operation at the Westbank Restitution area where 26 incomplete shacks were dismantled, and material confiscated and retained for safekeeping.
The operation was conducted by BCMM Human Settlements, our Law Enforcement Services and South African Police Services (SAPS).

The Municipality has just commissioned and conducted a land audit where all the parcels in the Metro were audited and categorised with ownership identified.

The Municipal operation are continuing and as the City we want to ensure that there is no land invasion taking place in the Westbank area as per the court order that has been granted by the East London High court.
