Speaking about the recognition, Chetty said he was proud to have raised the BCM flag high “I stood there proudly representing the Metro.”
“This award shows that BCM is held in high esteem,” he said.
“The role of the secretary requires meticulousness and dedication. For over 13 years I have dedicated myself to keeping the Institute
alive,” Chetty added.
This was Chetty’s second time being recognized by the Institute.
Last year he received a certificate for 30 years of loyal and dedicated membership to the institute.
The award was handed over to Chetty at the ITLMPOSA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), held in Cape Town’s City Hall on 11 September 2024.
BCM Spokesperson Samkelo Ngwenya said the recognition was testament of the Metro's commitment towards road and community safety.
"The Metro has good reputation of having high caliber traffic officers who carry out their duties with dedication and pride. This recognition award of loyal service that spans over a decade is a reflection of that motto.
"We hope the recognition will also influence the rest of the contingent under the command of traffic services."
