PHELOPHEPA TRAIN OFFERS HEALTHCARE SERVICES
The Transnet Phelophepha train is in the Buffalo City Metro to offer healthcare services to the people of the Metro.

The train arrived on Thursday, 08 February 2024 and is currently stationed at the Mount Ruth train station in Mdantsane and scheduled to move to eQonce on Monday, 19 February - Friday 01 March 2024.

Residents of the Metro are encouraged to take advantage of this trains arrival and visit the train as it offers service at little to no cost.

They are also urged to arrive early as help is administered on first come, first served basis.

The Phelophepa Train services include a healthcare clinic, eyecare clinic, dental clinic, and a counselling and psychology clinic.

Diabetic screenings and cancer education – free

Pap smears – free

Prostate and breast screenings – free

Medicine - R5 per prescription

 

EYE CLINIC

Eye tests – free

All glasses - R30

Eye drops - R5

(The eye clinic services do not include cataract

operations or bifocals)

 

COUNSELLING/PSYCHOLOGY

Services are available to individuals and include workshops to help cope with stress, abuse, conflict, death, parenting discipline,

empowerment and working through emotions – free.

 

DENTAL CLINIC

Screening and education – free

Fillings and cleaning are available (no false teeth)

Each procedure - R10

All procedures for children under the age of 16 are free.
