SPILLAGE IN EQONCE CBD
The Buffalo City Metro would like to inform residents and businesses that we are aware of a spillage incident that occurred earlier today in the Central Business District (CBD), which has resulted in an unpleasant stench and discomfort in the eQonce area.

Preliminary reports indicate that the spillage was caused by a truck transporting sensitive internal organs. Our Water and Sanitation teams are currently on site cleaning and disinfecting the affected area. In addition, our Environmental Health teams are actively monitoring air quality and implementing precautionary measures to safeguard public health.

We urge community members to take the following precautions until the clean-up operations are completed: Avoid the affected area unless absolutely necessary.

Keep windows and doors closed if you are in close proximity to the spillage site. Wear masks if you need to pass near the area, to minimise exposure to odours and airborne particles.

Practice good hygiene by washing hands thoroughly with soap and water if you come into contact with contaminated surfaces. Report any health concerns such as nausea, breathing difficulties or dizziness to your nearest clinic or healthcare provider.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as we work to restore normalcy. Further updates will be communicated as the situation develops.
