As part of Mandela Month celebrations, Buffalo City Metro in partnership with Buffalo City Development Agency (BCMDA) handed over blankets and food parcels to 300 elderly citizens from the 50 wards of the City.

The occassion was in line with the pillars of the Mandela month campaign which focuses on looking after the fragile and vulnerable. This falls under the main theme “It is in your hands”.

The campaign also encourages the addressing of the scourge of poverty, suffering as well as deprivation.

The Nelson Mandela International Day is held on the late former President’s birthday Nelson Mandela which is on the 18th of July.
