UMTIZA ARTS FESTIVAL ON TRACK
Umtiza Arts Festival opened on Thursday night with dance, song, dialogue and theatre at the Guild Theatre.

 

The festival is annual affair that is regarded as fast growing with arts, culture and heritage spectacles in the country’s, creative industry. According to BCMM Spokesperson Samkelo Ngwenya, “The arts festival has partnered with three institutions in East London including the EL Guild Theatre, East London Museum and the Ann Bryant Art Gallery.”
It is close to 10 years since the festival’s inception, with 2024 marking a big milestone to the City as it was declared one of the UNESCO’s Creative City of Literature on World Cities Day in Paris 2023.
