DEPUTY PRESIDENT PAUL MASHATILE VISIT TO BUFFALO CITY
Deputy President Paul Mashatile concluded his oversight visit to Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality on Saturday, 27 May 2023. This is part of government's efforts to fast-track the implementation of the District Development Model.

The visit started off with Engagements with the Buffalo City business community at the East London ICC as part District Development Model visit by Mashatilre. The Deputy President was welcomed by Buffalo City Metro Executive Mayor Councillor Princess Faku and Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane. Also in attendance were national government ministers, provincial MEC and BCM Mayoral Committee members.

During his visit to BCMM, Mashatile engaged with the Local Business Forum, in the context of strengthening partnership with the private sector to further unlock economic opportunities in sectors such as eco-tourism, oceans economy, agriculture, oil and gas, automotive and construction, among others.

Deputy President Mashatile paid a courtesy call on King Vululwandle of the AmaRharhabe Nation at Mnqesha Great Place, to provide updates on progress achieved in addressing issues raised by Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders.

Deputy President Mashatile concluded his visit in Ncera village where he also visited the Imidushane Great Place as well as engaged with the Macadamia Project Management together with members of the surrounding communities.

Deputy President Mashatile was apprised on efforts led by the Provincial government in bringing stability to the Macadamia project.

“Through this important consultation I have agreed with Premier Oscar Mabuyane to work together with the project management team, with aim to find possible solutions to address the challenges facing Macadamia Farm," said Deputy President Mashatile.
