BCM IS UPDATING ALL EXISTING PREPAID METERS
As a result of necessary technology changes in prepaid meters worldwide, all existing prepaid meters are required to be updated.

The Municipality is embarking on a drive to ensure that all meters are inserted with the key change tokens before the end date in 2024.

A ‘’key-change”’ needs to be performed on each prepaid meter.

This means you as a customer need to obtain and input 2 sets of 20-digit tokens into the meter.

This will ensure that the meters will continue to work uninterruptedly as the industry goes through the process of this change of upgrading the meters.

As a start, the options (on the poster) will be made available to the customer by the Municipality to all prepaid consumers to obtain these tokens on your own.

This project started in GONUBIE on 01 March 2022 and will run until the TID project is complete!
