CITY councillors will be teeing off in the inaugural Buffalo City Municipality Councillors’ Golf Day on Monday, 6 October.
Taking place on the greens of the East London Golf Course, the day has been designed to strengthen relations among councillors, “so as to build a formidable team”, according to a press release.
The golf day is an initiative from the Office of the Speaker to provide a relaxed platform for stakeholders to interact and explore innovative development avenues for the municipality.
“The day is set to have healthy and innovative environments for all BCM councilors and their stakeholders,” according to Executive Mayor Zintle Peter.
It is intended to be a fun-filled day of golf, motivational speeches and prizes. Tee off time is 10.30am.
The golf day will end off with prize-giving. “The prizes are a token of appreciation to councillors,” according to the press release.
Proceeds will donated to charity organisations chosen by the municipality, and for projects earmarked by the Office of the Speaker.
Buffalo City Speaker, Luleka Simon, urges all councillors to take part and “be part of this teambuilding session”.
