THE Guild Theatre is gearing up for the festive season with a lineup chockfull of fashion, dance and music.
On Friday, 7 November the Walter Sisulu University Buffalo City Campus hosts a fashion show at the East London venue, with students showcasing their latest designs. The show starts at 6.30pm and tickets are R30 for adults and R20 for students.
Following that is Centrestage’s Strictly Partytime 3, from 11 until 15 November. The musical has plenty of surprises and features the popular Centrestage All-Star Band, with lead singers Gino Fabbri and Eppie Angeleri.
The show promises to be the best end-of-year function, with drummer Derek Badenhorst and Vladimir Kockoff teaching the audience to dance to
Rasputin.
Angeleri will entertain the audience with a Latin American dance and Wayne Kallis will perform a range of top tunes, including
You May Be Right,
Beds Are Burning,
Can’t Stop This Thing We Started and
Rocking All Over The World.
Tickets for the show range from R99 to R110, and are available at the theatre ticket box.
Then, on 16 November at 7pm, Rory McLaren pays tribute to well-known baritone Josh Groban with songs like
You Raise Me Up, You Are Loved and
Don’t Give Up.
It is his last East London concert and as part of his farewell, he will sing some of his favourite songs by Robbie Williams, Michael Buble, Elvis Presley, Freddy Mercury, Frank Sinatra, Elton John and Whitney Houston. Tickets are R79.
To wrap up the month Walter Sisulu University will host another fashion show by its Ibika Campus on Friday, 21 November at 7pm. Tickets are R50.
