City hosts knowledge management session
6 February 2008
BUFFALO City will host the South African Cities Network Management Reference Group (KMRG) strategic session at the Regent Hotel starting on Thursday 7 February.
The KMRG was established in 2004 to promote a shared-learning partnership between different spheres of government in support of good governance of South African cities. In October 2007 the group was given new strategic direction and reinforced by a strategic partnership between the SACN and the South African Local Government Association (SALGA).
Participants in the October meeting committed themselves to the formulating of concrete plans to move partnerships for learning and sharing forward through the KRMG; and it was decided that this commitment would start with a strategic session in Buffalo City on 7 and 8 February this year.
The objectives of the strategic session include:
- Introducing new municipalities to the SACN Knowledge Management Reference Group
- Establishing the support needs of Knowledge Management practitioners in SA Cities
- Consolidating the outcomes of the October meeting
As a strategic partner, a journalist from your organisation is invited to attend this session for the purpose of reporting about it to the general public.
