City to hold transport forum

TRANSPORT in Buffalo City will be under the spotlight at a forum to discuss transport-related issues.

"It is the first meeting of our transport forum," according to the City's senior communications officer, Mamnkeli Ngam, "and is aimed at role players within the transport industry."

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 21 September, at the East London Golf Club.

It would give the municipality the opportunity to engage with a range of people, including include taxi operators, bus operators, commuters, businesspeople, law enforcement officers, members of the department of transport and the media.

"We have a list of issues to be discussed during the meeting," said Ngam.

On the agenda are:

"The City's management also wishes to invite the media to this meeting. This will be a good opportunity for the media to assist in the process of information sharing with the public about developments within the transport industry," said Ngam.
