THE festive season is just a month away and that means a whole host of activities is on the cards for the fun-loving people of Buffalo City. And there is no better way to start the holidays than the ever-popular annual carnival.
Preparations for the carnival, which takes place in East London and King William's Town, are already under way and the City's senior communications officer, Mamnkeli Ngam, said that Executive Mayor Zintle Peter had made funds available for the festival.
"An internal technical team composed of municipal officials from relevant directorates and Tourism Buffalo City has also been put in place to ensure the success of this event," Ngam said.
Though the carnival was a fun affair, Ngam said small, medium and micro enterprises would be able to display their products. "Also, as part of the entertainment, local artists will be invited to perform."
The carnival would take place on 15 and 16 December in East London and on 18 and 19 December in King William's Town. The switch would be flipped for the Christmas lights on 7 and 9 December.
