PROVINCIAL auditor-general Singa Ngqwala has paid a visit to Mayor Zintle Peter, to introduce himself to Buffalo City's new first citizen.
The visit, at the East London City Hall on Monday, 22 May, was also aimed at discussing the auditor-general's next audit of the city in August. The director in the Office of the Executive Mayor, Matthew Moonieya, said that the auditor-general wanted to hold discussions with Peter before his visit in August.
"The auditor-general wanted a dialogue with our new mayor to introduce himself and to discuss other issues affecting out city."
Moonieya said Peter and Ngqwala talked about the future of the city and some challenges it faced in delivering services effectively.
The mayor's vision for Buffalo City and plans to overcome its challenges will be tabled when she delivers her first State of the City address at the East London City Hall on Tuesday, 31 May.
