CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY GETS UNDERWAY

As of Monday, 17 July 2006, Buffalo City Municipality will be embarking on its annual customer satisfaction survey. The survey, which is the second of its kind, forms part of the municipality's customer care strategy, and is seen as a customer-focused initiative that will assist the municipality to gauge public opinion as to the services they receive.

Development Research Africa (DRA) has been commissioned by the municipality to undertake the study. The fieldworkers, who are unemployed Buffalo City youth on the DRA database, will through random sampling approach approximately 900 households and 350 businesses in all 45 wards. The youth have been given training in data collection techniques, professionalism and interviewing skills.

The survey will scrutinize all aspects of municipal service delivery and through the survey, the municipality hopes to become more customer-focused and result oriented in the delivery of services.

The municipality calls upon all stakeholders to support this exercise by co-operating with the data collectors who will be visiting their households. This will assist the municipality to attain the objective of continuous improvement in the delivering of services.
