A DELEGATION from the Northern Cape's Khara Hais municipality is on a two-day visit to Buffalo City to share ideas about customer care and performance management.
Buffalo City's communications manager, Darby Gounden, said Khara Hais - which came third, behind Buffalo City and the Ekhuruleni Metro, in last year's national Vuna Awards - was also interested in finding out about the running of the City's customer-care centre.
"We will be showing presentations on how the centre operates. We also want to share ideas with them on where we can improve and take our concept forward."
The four-member delegation would meet: Buffalo City's director of corporate services, Amanda Magwentshu; the general manager for strategic support, Nontobeko Mafu; the general manager for the integrated development plan, budget integration and performance management, Quinton Williams; and Gounden.
They would also visit the centre - at the Trust Centre, on the corner of Oxford and North streets in East London.
"They will see our set-up and how we deal with queries from our customers," Gounden said.
The discussions would also tackle the future of customer care, the communications manager added.
"This exercise should bear fruit for both Buffalo City and Khara Hais municipality," said Gounden.
