District approves R11,5m
for Buffalo projects

The Amatole District Municipality has approved R11,5-million in funding for Buffalo City's priority projects for the 2003/04 financial year, the Daily Dispatch reported today.
This was according to a report tabled at a council meeting last week.
Sakhumzi Somyo, the mayor of Amatole District Municipality, said he had met his Buffalo City counterpart Sindisile Maclean to "iron out outstanding matters on the priority project's funding", the newspaper reported.
The approved priority projects include:
- the R700 000 Schornvile sewerage works upgrade;
- the R900 000 Needs Camp water treatment water works; and
- other projects that are under way in the city.
