Training and
Development Centre
The Training and Development Centre provides the following services to Buffalo City Municipality:
- meeting of all training requirements;
- analysis of performance gaps;
- assistance in performance problems by either training or outsourcing or buying in a program to train on;
- constant monitoring, evaluation and making necessary changes;
- capacitating and empowering of staff;
- career-development planning for staff;
- tailoring training intervention to suit the organisation and making recommendations;
- determination of the skills needed in the organisation;
- ensuring skills capacity availability;
- determining services to the required standard; and
- development of a workplace skills plan that identifies training needs in a systematic manner in order to support the Integrated Development Plan.
The IT Lab is a registered International Computer Driving Licence training and testing centre. It is a closed centre and only municipal employees are entitled to the training and testing. The centre has accreditation from SAQA and its training unit standards are 1, 2, and 5.
